Cape Verde to host next edition of Ocean Race
Sao Vicente Island, Cape Verde, will host one of the stops at the next edition of the Ocean Race, an international sailing competition around the world, the race organizers said today in a statement.
The Porto do Mindelo will host about 60 boats that will be in evidence, in the edition that will take place between 2021 and 2022, in what will be one of the fastest stops.
Cape Verde also becomes the second African country to host the competition, after South Africa and Cape Town.
For the fifth time in a row, the next Ocean Race will depart from Alicante, Spain, and will have stops in The Hague, the Netherlands, and Aarhus, from Denmark, as well as Cape Verde.
According to the organization, more destinations will be announced in the coming weeks.
