Children’s Theater: The Return of Babar and Fala Bicho at Malaposta
These are two different stories that will be presented next with a short break of 5 minutes between them, where there is no need to leave the room.
BABAR
From the text that introduced the elephant Babar to the world.
Using Jean de Brunhoff‘s first story about this well-known and beloved elephant, the words of the French author (with translation and adaptation by Elsa Gomes) interact with the live music composed by Francis Poulenc to tell us the adventures that led Babar da forest to the city and back to the forest where he will become King of the Elephants.
FALA BICHO
From a selection of poems from Violeta Figueiredo‘s Fala Bicho, with music by Eurico Carrapatoso.
The best way to summarize this work is to use Alice Vieira‘s reading: Twenty stories, very simple, of animals that speak and play everything in a language that explores and rhymes, the sounds and, of course, the imagination.
If there is truly a genre that can be called “children’s poetry”, this must be the one Violeta Figueiredo introduces us to (in Diário de Notícias).
