Bragança embraces today, to the 10th of October, a cultural challenge of excellence: that of designing and organizing an international classical music festival in the district capital. It is from this challenge that the 1st International Music Festival “Bragança ClassicFest” will start. A project that intends to be continued in time and space(s), aiming at the experience of Classical Music in the unique heritage of the territory of Bragança.
With the artistic direction of Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro, the event will bring illustrious names of national and international classical music to Bragança, through memorable concerts and recitals, such as the commemoration of the centenary of the birth of Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, creator and greatest exponent of the “nuevo” tango”, to monuments and emblematic places of the city of Bragança.
Thus, the highlight goes to the concerts of the renowned Orchestra of St. Petersburg (Russia) and some of the most acclaimed national and international musicians: Diana Tishchenko (Ukrainian violinist), Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro (Portuguese pianist), Héctor Del Curto (Argentine Bandoneonist) or Karen Gomyo (Canadian Violinist), who will “give life” to works by JS Bach, C. Seixas, A. Vivaldi, WA Mozart, F. Schubert or A. Piazzolla, in unique places and spaces, such as the Municipal Theater of Bragança, the Igreja da Sé or the Igreja de Santa Maria, in the middle of the Cidadela.
The 1st Bragança ClassicFest is organized by the Municipality of Bragança, Bragança Municipal Theater and DSCH Associação Musical.
