Four Ward, B3 (Bi Brain Beat) and André Pizarro Pepe are the winners of the 2023 Talent Contest and are now part of the poster for the 18th edition of COOLJAZZ.
The concerts take place on the stage of Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth FM, in Parque Marechal Carmona. The objective of the competition is to support national jazz production, giving Portuguese jazz projects the opportunity to present themselves at the 18th edition of COOLJAZZ and publicize their work on Smooth FM antenna. The festival lineup is complete, with the start scheduled for the 8th of July, with Lionel Richie, Filipe Karlsson, and CÁTIA RIBEIRO QUARTETO.
The Four Ward winners perform on July 19th, on the day of Kings of Convenience and Golden Slumbers, the B3 (Bi Brain Beat) on July 20th, on the day of Snarky Puppy and Filho Da Mãe and André Pizarro Pepe on July 22nd, starting night where the legend Van Morrison is, thus completing the poster for COOLJAZZ 2023.
Applications were open from March 30th to May 31st and the finalists were announced on June 9th. Now it’s time to meet the 3 names that will be on stage at the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth Fm. Since 2017, COOLJAZZ has created the Jazz Sessions stage, focused on national talents, with the aim of supporting jazz artists. This initiative became a specific moment in the festival’s programming, giving national jazz talent a unique highlight in COOLJAZZ’s daily lineups.
The 18th edition of COOLJAZZ has a diverse lineup, with artists with international and national careers who bring their most recent works to the festival stage.
COOLJAZZ has 3 concerts per night.
It starts at 8 pm with the Cascais Jazz Sessions By Smooth Fm, then follows the First Concert on the main stage and ends with the Great Concert on the main stage. You can consult all the festival schedules at cooljazz.pt.
