Demand for personal trainers increased 83% in September

FIXANDO revealed today that the demand for Personal Trainers (PT) skyrocketed 83% in September compared to the same period in 2019, due to the need to practice sports and the increased insecurity in gyms.

The survey of 1,000 people about the exercise habits of the Portuguese in the ‘new normal’ also indicates that 44% started to exercise less, 43% feel insecure in the gym and 35% say they exercise occasionally or do not all

“It seems to us evident that, after the results achieved, that the Portuguese are looking for alternatives to the practices adopted for the practice of exercise until the beginning of the pandemic”, warns Alice Nunes, director of Business Development at Fixando.

Of the preferred places for the practice of sport, the most important are the outdoors and the home, always valuing safety and distance.

With regard to the chosen exercise, 28% prefer individual sports, followed by running and resistance training, 21% group classes and 20% weight training.
