The artist Francisco Primeiro will release his 5th single, “Rua da Solidão“, an alternative pop theme with jazz elements. The song will be available for download and streaming on all digital platforms starting September 27.
The theme reflects the dichotomy that exists in the increasingly populated city where we simultaneously feel more distant and alienated. In the fog of the nighttime city, in the despair of solitude, we forget who we are, and what we love, and we only sigh for a break, a moment to catch our breath and have a drink to forget.
Under the aura of a mysterious ambience, the dim light of the lamps tries in vain to pierce the thick fog that envelops the Street of Solitude.
There you will not find yourself, nor your love, nor what you came for.
Even God has forgotten you.
But since you are here, stop a little to drink.
About Francisco Primeiro
Francisco Primeiro was the name of a sport fishing boat. The fisherman’s son adopted the boat’s name for himself, in memory of his father, and now navigates the musical waters of jazz, funk, soul, and R&B.
Thus, the project of the Portuense musician was born, which has undergone various metamorphoses from its inception to the present day, experimenting with styles, collaborating with different musicians, and growing and maturing with every step.
He has played on various stages, from north to south of the country, since 2019, until deciding that he should finally crystallize some of his songs in the studio. Recently, he began recording his debut album at AI Studios, with producer André Indiana and collaboration with Sérgio Silva (drums), João Mascarenhas (keys), Tiago Lima (bass), and several guest musicians, such as Gileno Santana, Zé Nuno, Helena Neto, Pancho Tarabbia, and Fabián Araya.
The vision was clear: to create an album that encompassed the excitement and unpredictability of jazz, the groove of funk and R&B, and the soul of soul (pardon the redundancy), combined with the comfort and accessibility of pop music, in a set of songs in Portuguese to be listened to on the road.
The premise: to make an album that exalted the musicians’ performance, giving the feeling of a live recording, with the energy, fun, and sound that are characteristic of it, while simultaneously challenging musical and stylistic conventions.
From this musical collection, since 2023, the singles “Gabriela,” “Under Your Gaze,” “Breathe,” and “Matter of Dreams” have reached several radios in the country such as Smooth FM, Rádio Comercial, RDP Internacional, Rádio Nova, among many others, with more songs to be released in 2024 in anticipation of his debut album.
