Young university students in the sciences and arts can take a six-month paid internship.
Open applications
The Youth Foundation, in partnership with the EDP Foundation, has just launched another edition of PEMAAT – Internship Program at MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology). Aimed at university students, internships at MAAT are paid and can last six months. Applications are open for university students until March 19th.
The PEMAAT is available to all university students (undergraduate, master’s, or postgraduate), between 18 and 25 years old. To apply, they need to be students in the areas of science (Environment, Electricity, Electronics, Energy, Physics, and Chemistry) or arts (Architecture, Multimedia Art, Plastic Arts, Art and Heritage Sciences, Cultural Communication, Artistic Studies, History of Art, Museology, Production, and Cultural Management), preferably residing in the Lisbon area.
With a duration of six months, the internships are remunerated with a grant and transportation subsidy. Participants receive €5.00 per hour, for a minimum weekly total of 13.5 hours. The period and schedules are defined according to the availability and scales, in order to reconcile the academic activities.
“More and more we talk about the importance of bringing academia closer to companies. Through PEMAAT, we are creating more and better opportunities for young people to integrate the labor market from an early age. This initiative allows young university students to apply, in a real context, the skills developed in the classroom, in an experience that is always valued, on a personal and professional level”, emphasizes Carla Mouro, Executive President of the Youth Foundation.
Students selected for the PEMAAT – Internship Program at MAAT – are integrated into an initial training program lasting three weeks. The forecast is that the internships will start on May 2, 2023.
Applications to PEMAAT are open until March 19, through the online form.
