Solidarity Galas

The 4th edition of the initiative includes two Solidarity Galas that bring the initiative from the small stages in Railway Stations and Metro Stations to two cultural venues that host performances by prominent artists.
From October 18 to 25, it will also be possible to attend showcases of new talents at the Railway Stations in Aveiro, Braga, and Coimbra, as well as at the Porto and Lisbon Metro stations.
These artists were selected through an Open Call that exceeded 150 entries.
There is Music at the End of the Tunnel (HMFT) is a project that arose to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of one’s mental well-being, using music as a natural tool to reach everyone.
In October, the month that marks World Mental Health Day, the project returns for its 4th edition, which includes several novelties in its programming, namely, two Solidarity Galas whose proceeds go to institutions carefully selected by the National Coordination of Mental Health Policies.
The first Solidarity Gala takes place in Barcelos, on October 19, at the São Bento Menni Auditorium, a date very close to the start of this year’s programming and features Samuel Úria, Best Youth, and Vozes da Rádio.
Marking the closing of the There Is Music at the End of the Tunnel program, on October 29, the Maria Matos Theater hosts the second Solidarity Gala with Rita Redshoes, Luísa Sobral, and Lura.
Both Galas feature a rich and complete program that, in addition to musical moments, includes Stand Up Comedy moments provided by Carlos Moura (Barcelos) and Laura (Lisbon).
Tickets for the Solidarity Galas cost 15 euros and can be purchased at the usual locations.
In addition to the Solidarity Galas, the program of the There Is Music at the End of the Tunnel initiative extends from October 18 to 25 and, for more than a week, promotes showcases of new talents in the music field at the railway stations of Aveiro, Braga, and Coimbra, simultaneously (October 18) and at the Porto Metro Network stations (October 21 and 22) and Lisbon (October 24 and 25).
The projects that will be part of the showcase series were chosen through an Open Call held during September that received more than 150 applications, achieving the highest number of entries since the start of this initiative in 2021.
Through this initiative, the National Coordination of Mental Health Policies, along with all its partners, including Filrouge and Produtores Associados, invites people to pause their routine a bit, enjoy live music and take with them information about access to Mental Health care in Portugal. This will be made available via QR codes present at all performance venues.
There Is Music at the End of the Tunnel is an initiative of the National Coordination of Mental Health Policies (CNPSM), which, as the name indicates, operates in the field of promoting Mental Health in our country.
