International Swimming Federation chooses Setúbal for Olympic qualification
The International Swimming Federation (FINA) confirmed, this Wednesday, the choice of Setúbal as host of the Olympic qualification event, in the Open Water discipline, initially scheduled for May 29 and 30 in the Japanese city of Fukuoka.
The excellent relations between FINA and the Portuguese Swimming Federation, as well as the recognition of FPN’s organizational capacity in international events, made the choice fall on the city of Sado, with a date scheduled for June 19 and 20, in the Park Urban of Albarquel.
As in 2012 and 2016, this is the third time that Setúbal has received the 10km event in Águas Abertas that guarantees the Olympic qualification. Among the expected swimmers are the Portuguese Angélica André, Tiago Campos and Mafalda Rosa.
