Júlia Palha goes on an adventure through Thailand

The Portuguese actress and model Júlia Palha is about to start a journey of discovery in Thailand, with the support of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

From the 19th to the 29th of August, Júlia Palha will visit some of the most iconic destinations in the country, including the capital Bangkok, Phuket, as well as Khao Sok, Krabi and the Phi Phi Islands.

Known for her talent in the performing arts, the actress and model will have the opportunity to experience Thailand’s lush landscapes and culture, as well as the Portuguese influence in that country. Her journey will be documented through social media, allowing fans to follow her on this adventure and discover the wonders that this Southeast Asian destination has to offer.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand, committed to promoting the country as a tourist destination, welcomes Júlia Palha’s participation in this initiative, highlighting Thailand’s growing popularity as a place of choice with younger audiences. “Thailand has always been a popular destination for young people eager to learn about other cultures and other ways of thinking. Júlia Palha will have the opportunity to share a unique experience, opening doors to some destinations that are still little known in the Portuguese market, such as Khao Sok”, says Rosário Louro, TAT representative in Portugal. And he adds: “The recent numbers of Portuguese tourists who chose to travel to Thailand reflect a growing demand for the destination and a greater interest in regions unknown to the general public”.

After three years with the borders closed, Thailand is in full recovery in the European market. Portugal is no exception. In the first half of 2023, around 20,000 residents of Portugal traveled to Thailand, with this number expected to increase significantly in the second half. The entry of the airline Etihad into the Portuguese market significantly increased the number of seats available to the destination and also opens a window of opportunity for reducing the price of flights, which have been very high. By the end of the year, more than 40,000 tourists residing in Portugal are expected in Thailand. The vast majority will travel to the southern beaches or the northern mountains of the destination.
