Manchester City beats Tottenham and wins the English League Cup
Manchester City beat Tottenham 1-0 at Wembley and won the English League Cup, the eighth in history (equals Liverpool’s maximum) and the fourth in a row since 2018.
With João Cancelo and Rúben Dias in the eleven (Bernardo Silva entered in the 86th minute), Pep Guardiola’s team’s intense dominance only materialized in the 82nd minute, when central defender Aymeric Laporte responded head-to-head with a free kick by Belgian Kevin De Bruyne on the left.
Pep Guardiola won his seventh title at Manchester City, while Tottenham, who played their second game after the dismissal of José Mourinho, continues the title drought: the last one (a League Cup) was in 2008.
The best of the action from another wonderful day at Wembley! ?
