In 2005, Mariza was honoured with the Best Performer Award from the Amália Rodrigues Foundation and was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, marking the release of her third studio album, Transparente. Her fourth album, Terra, released in 2008, stood out with notable collaborations and achieved Triple Platinum status. Other successes followed, including the 2010 album Fado Tradicional, which reaffirmed her connection to classic Fado.

In the landmark year of 2020, the twentieth of her career, Mariza released Mariza Canta Amália, a tribute to the great Amália Rodrigues, produced by Jacques Morelenbaum. This work reaffirms her artistic mastery and her capacity for personal reinterpretation of the fado legacy.

Mariza is an artist who has transcended the boundaries of World Music, establishing herself as one of the great voices of international music. Born in Mozambique and raised in the Lisbon neighbourhood of Mouraria, Mariza has preserved and enriched her cultural roots, winning hearts around the world.
