At the Restaurante El Olivo at Hotel Meliá Braga, the cuisine is a magical territory, as evidenced by the new menu that highlights the delicacies and ancestral customs of the Minho region, aiming for the perfect balance between modernity and creativity.
In this hotel unit, the El Olivo Restaurant conquered its own space in the city of Braga, being the stage for the visit of local customers and tourists. This menu goes beyond technique and involves local producers and ingredients, becoming the city’s calling card and a showcase of the region’s gastronomy.
Dishes such as Cod soup with poached egg, Bacalhau à Moda de Braga, Leg of lamb à moda de Braga and Pica no Chão or desserts such as Pudim Abade de Priscos and Viúvas de Braga, are just a few examples of best known that you can taste.
In the restaurant, you can also find novelties on the wine list, which now includes a few more options such as Reserva do Comendador, Titan of Douro, Ferro da Ferradosa, Quinta do Ameal Loureiro or Tojeira Grande Escolha, among others.
Heading El Olivo since January 2020, Chef Elísio Bernardes defines his cuisine as being “conscious, creative and constantly evolving, albeit very simple and product-centric”. The Chef also mentions that “based on the best that is done in Braga, we want to assume ourselves as a reference in traditional gastronomy, with ancestral flavours and respect the roots of this very genuine people, the Minhoto”.
