The aim of the Azeméis Film Festival is thus to give back to the city the dynamic of cinema promotion that existed there a few decades ago.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he event’s premiere will focus on a feature film competition between fiction and documentary, bringing together works awarded in the last year in five film festivals: Avanca, DocLisboa, Fantasporto, IndieLisboa, and LEFFEST.
“De los nombres de las cabras”, by Spanish filmmakers Silvia Navarro and Miguel G. Morales, who won the Indielisboa 2019 with this work.
Under evaluation by a jury, the contest will also be “Tommaso“, an Italian production that, signed by the American director Abel Ferrara, debuted in Cannes and was awarded at LEFFEST 2019.
Fantasporto 2020, in turn, will add to the competition the film “Behind the coin”, shot by the Portuguese Luís Moya, and from the Avanca Film Festival will arrive “Eternal Winter”, by the Hungarian filmmaker Attila Szász.
As for the 2019 edition of DocLisboa, it will be represented with “Santikhiri Sonata“, by Thai director Thunska Pansittivorakul.
