Pablo Milanés live in Lisbon on Thursday

Pablo Milanés was able to address a wide range of Cuban and American musical genres throughout his work: from tradition to modernity, from ‘filin’ to new song, including jazz, rumba and bolero, thanks to his wide interpretive versatility.

In this concert he will present some new compositions, such as ‘Día de luz’, ‘Islas, cuerpos y algo más’ and ‘Vestida de mar’, but there will also be classics such as ‘El breve espacio en que no está’, ‘Yolanda’, ‘ Ya ves’ and ‘To live’, which continue to define the nature and uniqueness of his soul as a troubadour.

After receiving two Latin Grammys in 2006, and a Grammy for Musical Excellence in 2015, Pablo has continued to compose and record solo and collaborate with many musicians, particularly young musicians. Recently, the publisher Universal Music Spain released his music catalog. Composed of over 400 songs, across all musical platforms, as a legacy that will remain for future generations.

Milanés is currently preparing new projects, composing songs he plans to record solo on guitar, and is also working on producing an album with songs from his salsa repertoire.
