Perrito Caliente and Conan Castro and the Moonshine Piñatas at Village Underground Lisboa
The Spanish garage punk quartet Perrito Caliente will debut in Lisbon next Saturday, February 11th. Coming from Léon, Spain, the group performed for the first time at the Lexploitation festival in 2021, also passing through cities like Madrid, Bilbao, and Oviedo, among others.
Their debut EP, the eponymous “Perrito Caliente”, released in November last year by Family Spree Recordings, is a true punk rock calling card bursting with strength, anger, and attitude. Contagious breaths of fresh air like “Solo fue una vez”, “Devorarte”, “Perro viejo” and “La Fiesta” overflow with fuzz and catchy melodies. A kind of wild cross between references like Davila 666, Bored!, King Gizzard, or Sex Pistols.
Accompanying the band on stage will be Conan Castro and The Moonshine Piñatas, from Barreiro, in Setúbal. The group from the south bank, formed in 2014, also moves through the boiling waters of garage punk and rock. He already participated in the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Barreiro Rocks festival and shared the stage with national reference bands such as The Parkinsons or Asimov.
In February last year, they released the new album “Shrimp Waterfall”, by Groovie Records. A work that illustrates his “sense of divine depravity and lower moral standards”, with songs about themes such as “injustice, love, lies, black magic, seafood, and computer problems”.
The concerts will start at 10 pm in the concert hall of the Village Underground.
