Citizenship and Freedom is the theme under analysis in the second session of the seminar cycle “Setúbal, Educating City: transforming the territory with people”, organized by the City Council, which takes place online on April 6.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his cycle follows the usual panel “Paths that follow: successful local experiences”, integrated in the program of the Annual Education Conference of Setúbal, held in September 2020, did not take place in the usual format, due to restrictions in the context mitigation of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the objective of continuing to promote a space for encounter, reflection and training of the educational community, the municipality decided to organize a cycle of seminars, called “Setúbal, Educating City: transforming the territory with people”, with online transmission by Youtube channel of the municipality.
After a first seminar, held on December 2 of last year, the second meeting is scheduled for April 6, starting at 6 pm, with the theme “Citizenship and Freedom”.
The City Councilor for Education, Ricardo Oliveira, leads the opening session, scheduled for 6 pm, which will be followed, from 6:15 pm, by the round table “Transforming the territory with people – Citizenship and Freedom”.
In this round table, Cristina Roldão and Ana Alcântara, teachers at the Escola Superior de Educação de Setúbal, share a presentation on the “Black Presence in Setúbal: An Anti-Racist Roadmap”, and Manuel Correia, from the Institute of Educational Communities, talks about the topic “Children and Youth: Knowing and Participating for Democracy ”.
The head of the Youth Division of the Municipality of Setúbal, Cátia Oliveira, discusses the experience of the municipality in promoting the “Cycle of Debates” project, aimed at reflecting on various topics that concern young people.
Registration, free of charge, must be made by filling in a form available . Subsequently, the credentials for accessing online participation in the seminar are sent to the registrants.
