Tiago Cardoso, musician and composer, released the first single “Leonor” as a solo artist. With lyrics and music written by himself, this is a song that tells the story of Leonor from the first stanza of the poem “Descalça Vai para a Fonte” by Luís de Camões and puts the main character, Leanor, nowadays.
The scenery of Camões is beautiful and romantic, but the Leanor that comes alive in this song is not the same, was not born in the same place. The Leanor that the music portrays was born in a country like Palestine, Ukraine or Sudan and lives a very different reality. Leanor is barefoot because he has nothing to wear, goes to the source, but can not bring much water, and is a beautiful woman, but that serves him little when he lives the suffering of war.
“Leonor” is the first song presented by the musician, after his passage through the band Vila Martel and the first of several releases of Tiago Cardoso scheduled for 2024.
The song features a music video, directed by Francisca Carreira, and recorded at Hub Criativo do Beato, where Leanor is represented by a dancer, Bonnie Hiron, portraying the reality of the people who live in this scenario. It was possible to count on 13 refugees from different countries to participate as extras, making the message and symbolism of the song even greater.

Tiago Cardoso started his career early in the world of music, studying at the Academy of Music of Santa Cecília. Years later, and already away from music, he began to gain a taste for writing and listening to what would be his favourite band, Pink Floyd and realized that he could express what he felt through songs. So, in a sudden change of course and, following the heart, risk in this world!
He started his adventure in the band Vila Martel, with two edited albums, where he was bassist, composer and lyricist. The album “Nunca Mais é Sábado” was very present by several radios (Antena 3, Vodafone FM, Radar) with the singles “Não Nos Deixe Ir Embora” and “Ninguém”.
Now, he is looking for his solo debut, with more conceptual themes and themes such as Human Rights. The musical evolution is tied to the genre it assumes, where it seeks a more progressive and psychedelic Rock, without being so attached to the “obvious”. It also assumes a more daring posture, risking megalomania and grandeur, always trying to bring together several artists, from different areas, in the creation of very complete and diverse projects, focused on the music created, but that bring new interpretations, visions and creations!
