Tiago Monteiro wins first race this season at Nurburgring

The Portuguese pilot behind the wheel of a Honda won the first of two races in the World Cup for Touring Cars (WTCR), held at the Nurburgring circuit, in Germany.

This was the Portuguese’s first victory of this season, which only materialized on the last lap with an overtaking Frenchman Yvan Muller already reaching the straight for the finish line.

The French from Link&Co was in second place at 0.514 seconds and the third was Uruguayan Santiago Urrutia, also from Link&Co, with more 0.746s.

This was Tiago Monteiro’s first victory this season, the last was in Vila Real, in 2019, the driver has a total of 13 victories between the Touring Car World Cup (WTCC) and Touring Car World Cup (WTCR).
