Rowland is involved from the earliest stages of script development to the end of post-production.
He is an artist in the fullest sense of the term. He collaborates fully in designing the overall look that the film will take, from the sets to the choice of locations, through the color palette of the clothes and make-up of the actors, to the special effects to be used.
The award created three years ago by the festival seeks to distinguish exceptional contributions made by the closest collaborators of a director that allow him to complete the artistic project.
Marcus Rowland has worked with director Edgar Wright since the beginning of his career, having been in the development of works such as ‘Shaun of the Dead’, ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’. He has also worked with, among others, Joe Cornish (‘Attack the Block’ and ‘The Kid Who Would Be King’) and Dexter Fletcher (‘Rocketman’).
