The Venâncio Ribeiro da Costa Park, in the village of Palmela, hosts on August 8, at 5:30 pm, the initiative “O Parque Zoológico da Música”.
Organized by the Municipality of Palmela, conceived and directed by Maestro Jorge Salgueiro and in co-production with Foco Musical Portugal, this event for children and adults is based on the symphonic fable “A Quinta da Amizade”. It is the moving story of an elephant that is rejected by other animals for being different. Its size, color and shape mean that it is not very well received among the other animals on the Quinta.
In the first part of the show, the audience is invited to visit, in a freeway, the 10 stations/places located in the park, to see the animals and the instruments that make up the orchestra.
In the second part, the Lisbon Symphony Orchestra, narrated by Sofia Vitória, will perform the work “A Quinta da Amizade”, in the auditorium of the park. The concert, lasting two hours, is part of the “Palmela é Música” program and has the collaboration of Teatro dos Barris – Associação; EnsaiArte Amateur Theater Group; ATVK-Association of Teatro da Vila and Associação Teatro Sem Dono.
With limited capacity for 300 people, “O Parque Zoológico da Música” has free entry, upon ticket collection, at the venue, from 3 pm onwards. More info here.
