CLAV Live Sessions present another 4 concerts between January and February 2022 and their return will be marked by female music.
After two seasons in 2021 with a total of 20 concerts, CLAV Live Sessions returns for their 40th broadcast on January 7th with Bia Maria, then on January 21st with Labaq, in February the first concert happens on January 10th February with Surma and the month ends with a concert by Minta on the 25th.
This new edition has some new features: online broadcasts will be transferred exclusively to the channel YouTube of CLAV – Center and Artistic Laboratory of Vermil and a CALL will be launched in January that aims to support the edition of 4 emerging musical projects in the format of sustainable creation residencies in the CLAV space.
The artistic director of CLAV, Alberto Fernandes, reinforces that “the fundamental idea of the CLAV Live Sessions is to support the emerging musical fabric in Portugal, making the public aware of new values, as well as giving access to creators to produce, in the space CLAV, artistic products that allow you to promote your creations anywhere. CLAV Live Sessions are already considered in Portugal a launching pad for music. “I am very pleased to see that all the projects that pass through here, right away, are playing in the great cultural spaces spread across the country”, says Alberto Fernandes.
This edition also has the support of the Portuguese State – Cultural Promotion Fund (Guarantee Cultura), the Municipality of Guimarães and the Parish Union of Airão and Vermil and has Antena 3, Alma Lusa and FreePass Guimarães as communication partners.
CLAV Live Sessions are already a national reference in the programming and promotion of music in Portugal. They remain in the history of music as the only project in Portugal that did not stop at the time of the pandemic, being considered the pioneer in the programming of concerts in a mixed format (with public and online transmission). It is still a decentralized project and very far from the big cities in an attempt to make some corrections for asymmetries, whether cultural, social or economic.
