MAR Shopping Algarve and MAR Shopping Matosinhos will have free health screenings again in 2022

The MAR Shopping Algarve and MAR Shopping Matosinhos shopping centers are offering free health and relaxation screenings every month with the aim of raising awareness of the communities in which they are inserted to the importance of early detection of health indicators that require medical monitoring, as well as how to advise for good practices in matters of health and well-being. In January, MAR Shopping Algarve receives a skin screening action, with the prevention of skin cancer as a goal, and MAR Shopping Matosinhos will provide a visual screening.

Screenings will continue to be carried out every month next year at the MAR Shopping Algarve and MAR Shopping Matosinhos centers. The January awareness-raising actions will take place on the weekend of January, the 29th and 30th, between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. At MAR Shopping Algarve, visitors will be able to access the initiative next to the HPA Pharmacy and Clinic (floor 0) and, at MAR Shopping Matosinhos, on floor -1 (next to Re-food). Access will work on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visitors will be able to access the detailed agenda of the two centers on their website.

MAR Shopping Algarve will receive a skin screening, promoted by AOA – Associação Oncológica do Algarve, which will allow participants to have an early assessment of the state of their skin, not invalidating the consultation of a dermatologist or a more in-depth screening. The Algarve is a very sunny region and skin care and sun care should be a constant in the community so that, even in winter, they know how to protect their skin from possible or eventual injuries. The Algarve Oncological Association will screen and advise the community on essential care for the largest organ of the human body.

MAR Shopping Matosinhos will receive a visual screening, organized by Opticalia Premium, reinforcing the importance of optometric screening that helps to identify the state of visual health in order to rule out any major eye problems and also monitor eye tension and the state of vision, one of the most important senses of the human body, often with advanced pathologies that are difficult to reverse.

The culture of screening is increasingly present in society, which is becoming familiar with the importance of early prevention as a health “agent”. Screening allows help for asymptomatic people and makes the evolution of health conditions more controlled. Screenings are carried out in various areas of health and relaxation, offering greater attention to the importance of mental health. The Ingka Centers group sees the screening campaign as a way of reinforcing the importance of transmitting preventive health concepts to the community.
