Songs such as “If Darkness Had A Son”, “Screaming Suicide” and “Lux Aeterna” have already been removed from the album. Produced by Greg Fidelman with Hetfield & Ulrich, and clocking in at 77 minutes in length, “72 Seasons” features 12 songs and is Metallica’s first studio album since 2016’s “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct”.
Critically acclaimed and described as “a resounding success” by Classic Rock magazine, Uncut noted that Metallica had found “eternal redemption”, and The Arts Desk summed up the record accurately, writing simply that “Metallica continue to give letters”.
The album is available on 2LP 140g vinyl, CD, digital, and in Dolby Atmos (streaming where available). For a list of the various formats available, see the website.
