Bonvalot defeated Yolanda Hopkins in an all-Portuguese final
3rd stage of the 2023/2024 European regional qualifying circuit
Teresa Bonvalot won the Pro Anglet, QS3000, and 3rd stage of the 2023/2024 European regional qualifying circuit in Chambre D’Amour, Anglet, France.
In an entirely Portuguese women’s final and very close, the current national champion beat Yolanda Hopkins with a score of 13.66 points (6.83 + 6.83) against the opponent’s 13.16 points (7.33 + 5.83).
Bonvalot overtook Basque Nadia Erostarbe in the semi-finals while Hopkins overcame France’s Tessa Thyssen.
With these critical results, the current European champion, Yolanda Hopkins, took the lead in the European ranking while Teresa Bonvalot rose to 2nd place.
On the men’s side, the best athlete in this race was Eduardo Fernandes who reached 13th place leaving Anglet in 27th place in the ranking.
The next step is the Pantin Classic Galicia Pro which takes place from August 29th to September 3rd in Pantin, Galicia, Spain.
