The Fireman’s Museum in Valencia received a donation of 627 miniatures of replica fire trucks from British collector Peter Elliot.
The estate reception ceremony took place at the Museum of Firefighter Manuel Valdez Sobral. In the act was the donor, Peter Elliot and his wife who delivered the estate to the Mayor, José Manuel Carpinteira. The President of the Humanitarian Association of Valença Volunteer Firefighters, Abel Guerreiro, and the Councilman, Arlindo de Sousa, attended the ceremony.
The Mayor thanked the offer of this estate that comes to enrich, even more, this Valencian museum space.
Peter Elliot, a native of Wales, dedicated a lifetime to the British Airforce as a firefighter: Dedication became passion and provided this collection that, over 53 years, gathered 527 pieces. The owner, on the day he turns 74, puts this collection at the service of the community, in what he considers to be “one of the most interesting museum spaces, dedicated to the life of firefighters in the world”.
This is the second major donation that the Fireman’s Museum of Valença receives. The first occurred in 1994, of 4000 pieces, donated by Manuel Valdez Sobral that gave rise to the creation of this museum space.
