Bronze for Pedro Fraga and Afonso Costa
Portuguese duo won today the bronze medal in the class LM2x of the Rowing World Cup with the time of 6.43,710 minutes.
Pedro Fraga and Afonso Costa participated in the Rowing World Cup and won bronze in the LM2x (‘double scull’) class in the first stage in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The Portuguese duo was beaten by Belgian rookies Tim Brys and Niels van Zandweghe, who won with a time of 6.40,400, and Poles Artur Mikolajczewski and Jerzy Kowalski, runners-up at 6.42.990.
In the women’s section (LW2x), Joana Branco and Inês Oliveira were not beyond the last place in the B final, away from the winning pair, the Japanese Ayami Oishi and Chiaki Tomita.
The second stage takes place in Poznan, Poland, in June.
