Discover “Dishes with History” at the Colinas de Lisboa Restaurant

Until December 27, at the Meliá Lisboa Aeroporto Hotel

The Meliá Lisboa Aeroporto Hotel has reinvented its usual lunch buffet with a special novelty: the “Dishes with History” program. Until December 27, it will be possible to experience a typical dish that reflects the gastronomic and cultural richness of different regions of the country.

Various types of feijoada, açorda, and even stone soup: are some of the dishes that can be enjoyed from Monday to Friday.

Recognized for its strong commitment to traditional Portuguese cuisine, the Colinas de Lisboa Restaurant aims to take its customers on a journey through authentic flavours. With a cosy atmosphere and excellent service, it presents a new menu that highlights the best of national cuisine, always with a touch of modernity and sophistication.

The activity begins with Arroz de Pato à Lafões, a dish with roots in the region that gives rise to the name, known for its rustic and homemade touch. Next, guests can delight in Atum Estufado à Algarvia, a recipe that highlights the authenticity of the Algarve, where the main ingredient – tuna – is carefully cooked with spices and local products. Still this month of October, it will be possible to taste Carne de Porco Estufada com Castanhas, a typically autumnal combination that celebrates the comforting flavour of this fruit and the juiciness of pork.

Following will be Açorda de Bacalhau com Tomate, a dish that highlights the best of simple and nutritious cooking from Beira Baixa. The traditional Javali Estufado com Castanhas reflects ancient practices of preserving and cooking this type of meat. The Feijoada de Choco takes centre stage, representing the Portuguese maritime tradition with the rich flavours of this dish. The month of November will end with Sopa da Pedra, one of the most emblematic Portuguese soups.

December will be dedicated to feijoada, starting with Feijoada de Tamboril e Camarão, followed by Feijoada de Leitão, Feijoada de Chocos e Mexilhão, and to end the year, the lesser-known but equally comforting Feijoada de Coelho will be served.

These “Dishes with History” are a true tribute to recipes that evoke traditions from several generations and have been carefully selected to provide an unforgettable experience for all customers.
