ELEVEN has just announced the acquisition of the broadcasting rights of the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) to Portugal, until 2023, thus adding the best of professional women’s tennis to its regular portfolio of premium sports content, which in tennis has already had the ATP250.
[dropcap]E[/dropcap]LEVEN will ensure, this season, the exclusive live broadcast of the WTA Finals and WTA 1000 tournaments, in a total of 10 tournaments, with the best tennis players in the world, including Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep, and Serena Williams, among many others in the top 10, who will be a regular presence on ELEVEN’s channel 4.
The WTA is one of the most recognized and known sports leagues in the world, with more than 1650 registered players, representing approximately 85 nations.
“This is more good news for all tennis and sports fans in general in Portugal. It is with great pride and special satisfaction that we now have the best of women’s professional tennis at ELEVEN. This content reinforces the existing tennis content and is part of one of the segments of the ELEVEN 2.0 strategy, the ELEVEN WOMEN pillar, which aims to reinforce the offer of female sports content for all sports fans”, says Jorge Pavão de Sousa, Managing Director of ELEVEN Portugal.
