On the 15th, 16th and 17th of October 2021, the 8th International Meeting of Clowns of Vila do Conde will take place. The event is promoted by Cia Cloud Voadora and is highly sponsored by the Vila do Conde City Council.
It is with great enthusiasm that we announced another edition of the Vila do Conde Clowns International Meeting. The eighth edition of this Meeting is special for its theme and also for the national and international quality of the artists presented. The program includes artists from Mexico, Brazil, Senegal and Portugal who will transform Vila do Conde into the capital of laughter and joy. The 8th International Clowns Meeting will take place at the Municipal Theater of Vila do Conde.
The 8th International Clown Meeting in Vila do Conde has as its theme: Black Clown.
When we talk about Black Clown, we are talking about the African expression revealed in the language of the clown. In the oldest tribes in Africa, the clown figure was represented in different ways, with different masks and rituals. Currently, several clowns and clowns of African descent around the world explore the language of the clown to express themselves, to find their roots and to amuse their audience.
