The five most voted, and therefore qualified for the final, were: Valéria – ‘Na Mais profunda saudade’; Karetus e Romeu Bairos – ‘Saudade’; The Black Mamba – ‘Love is on My Side’; Fábia Maia – ‘Dia Lindo‘; Sara Afonso – ‘Contramão‘.
This year’s festival jury was comprised of Paulo de Carvalho, NBC, Rita Carmo, Rita Guerra, Vanessa Augusto, and Marta Carvalho (winner of the Festival last year).
The vote fell half to the jury and half to the public vote at home, as has been the case. In the final, the jury’s votes will be made by representatives from seven regions of mainland Portugal and islands.
The other performances were Mema – ‘Claro como Água‘; Nadine – ‘Cheguei Aqui‘; Marôco – ‘Girassol‘; Irma – ‘Livros’ e Ian – ‘Mundo’, who also acted in this semifinal.
The final of the 2021 Song Festival is scheduled for March 6 and the winner will represent Portugal in the 65th edition of Eurovision, which will take place on May 18, 20 and 22, in the Netherlands.
