Monthly fairs and markets will reopen in Lagos

The Feiras de Velharias in Lagos and Chinicato will return as early as next November, as well as the Monthly Markets in Lagos and Odiáxere. Feira Franca will also return between the 19th and 22nd of November.

Due to the pandemic situation, the monthly flea markets and markets in the municipality were suspended according to a statement dated 12 March 2020 from the Mayor of Lagos, a way to avoid initiatives likely to cause clusters of people that would put them at risk. Given the stabilization of the epidemiological situation in the country and in Lagos, and following the trend of lifting restrictions resulting from the pandemic throughout the country, the municipality decided to resume these fairs as early as next November. Thus, the Feira de Fracas de Lagos returns on the 1st Sunday of each month (Parking at the Municipal Pavilion), the Feira de Fracas do Chinicato on the 2nd Sunday of each month, the Mercado Mensal de Lagos on the 1st Saturday of each month (nearby from the Municipal Stadium) and the Odiáxere Monthly Market on the 4th Monday of each month (Largo da Alegria, near Moinho de Vento).

Also the Feira Franca, which took place in the county back in 1931, returns to the land attached to the Municipal Stadium, between November 19 and 22, with the usual trade, entertainment and abundance that delight everyone.

For the resumption of these fairs, the municipality calls on the entire community to comply with the health guidelines in force for a safe visit, including the use of a mask whenever it is not possible to maintain a physical distance of 2m, the adoption of etiquette behavior respiratory and hand hygiene.
