Félix da Costa finishes Formula E season in sixth place
The Portuguese driver Antonio Félix da Costa (BMW) finished the Formula E championship for electric cars in sixth place after today was ninth in the last race in New York.
Leaving 14th place on the grid, Félix da Costa still lost two positions on the first lap, due to an incident that involved pilots ahead of him, getting blocked.
From that moment, the Portuguese started a recovery that ended in ninth place, won on the last lap, thanks to the collision that left German Max Gunther (Geox) and Brazilian Lucas di Grassi (Audi) out of the race.
The driver of Cascais finished, thus, to 11,727 seconds of the winner, the Dutchman Robin Frijns (Virgin).
Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne (DS), seventh in the final race, became the first driver to become a two-time champion in the five years of the competition.
As for Felix da Costa, finished the season in sixth place, with 99 points, the best result in his career in Formula E.
