Huawei sold 240 million smartphones in 2019
Huawei CEO Richard Yu revealed in an interview with members of the Chinese press (via GizmoChina) that the company managed to sell a total of 240 million smartphones in 2019, representing a 16% increase over last year.
[dropcap type=”default”]T[/dropcap]he number of sales is impressive given Huawei’s unstable situation in the Western market, with the integration of the U.S. ‘blacklist’ and the departure of Google services. Thus, the Chinese company managed to maintain the second place in the ranking of manufacturers with more smartphones sold, just behind Samsung.
Huawei also managed to sell a total of 6.9 million 5G smarthpones. Yu revealed that Huawei’s entire consumer segment reached revenue of 467.304 billion yuan, equivalent to 59 billion euros.
