The first weekend of the festival will be exclusively dedicated to the ‘TriCoimbra: Luso-French Extravaganza’, a meeting that will provide multiple crosses between the French collective Tricollectif and Portuguese musicians.
[dropcap]On[/dropcap] the 23rd, 24th and 25th, this meeting of 14 Portuguese and French musicians will be promoted in eight concerts in different spaces of the city, with various types of formations and genres, the largest being a septet that will perform on the 24th, at Salão Brazil .
On the last weekend of October and the festival, a concert by the composer and drummer Mário Costa is presented on 30th at the Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente, with ‘Oxy Patina’, an album released in 2018, the same day being presented the trio Simorgh, composed by João Lobo, Norberto Lobo and Soet Kempeneer.
The closing day begins with a concert by the duo Burnt Friedman and João Pais Filipe, at Oficina Municipal do Teatro.
The festival ends with the Quang Ny Lis project, a trio that could be “one of many to dedicate themselves to a repertoire of jazz ‘standards'”.
‘Standards’, like ‘I Fall in Love too Easily’ or ‘I Get Along Without You Very Well’, are reviewed in the light of contemporaneity by Rita Maria, João Mortágua and Mané Fernandes, Jazz told Centro Clube.
