João Geraldo, João Monteiro, Tiago Apolónia and Shao Jieni eliminated at WTT Star Contender Doha 2021

The Portuguese João Geraldo, João Monteiro, Tiago Apolónia and Shao Jieni were eliminated in the 32nd round of the WTT Star Contender Doha 2021, in Qatar.

João Geraldo (95th in the world ranking) lost 2-3 to Chun Ting Wong, from Hong Kong, number 20 in the world, Tiago Apolónia (60th) 1-3 to the British Liam Pitchord (15th) , as well as João Monteiro (79th) against the Austrian Robert Gardos (26th) and Shao Jieni (62nd) against the Thai Sawettabut Suthasini (41st).

Portugal will now participate in the final phase of the European Team Championship, between the 28th of September and the 3rd of October, in the city of Cluj, Romania.
