The “Sítios Mágicos” will continue on the 24th and 25th of July in Coimbra, Condeixa-a-Nova and Montemor-o-Velho. Magic classes, guided tours and shows starring international magicians mark another weekend, this time with the presence of Gisell and Mago Rafa.
The “Sítios Mágicos” returns this weekend with the last classes of magic from Class 3, which will be held in the Jorge Paiva Room of the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra. The shows and guided tours will take place at Sala dos Capelos, with two daily sessions, at 11:00 am and 2:30 pm, on Saturday and Sunday. In Condeixa, the sessions will take place in the Castellum de Alcabideque, at 2:30 pm and 7:00 pm, and in Montemor no Castelo, at 11:00 am and 5:30 pm, on both days.
Last weekend, there were classes in the different Classes 3 of the Escola de Magia, in which students from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic Education and Secondary Education, enrolled in schools in the districts of Coimbra, Condeixa and Montemor, participate, upon prior registration . In Coimbra, the activities took place at the UC Chimico Laboratory, with the magicians Cliff and Rafael Titonelly. On Saturday, the director of the Science Museum, Paulo Trincão, welcomed the public and presented this emblematic space.
Classes for the fourth and last groups will take place between July 31st and August 22nd. Remember that registrations are limited to 10 students per class and must be made by email. Of the four classes from each of the partner municipalities, some students will be selected to participate in the Magic Galas, which will take place in September, in Coimbra, Condeixa and Montemor.
The “Sítios Mágicos” program, financed by European funds, guarantees a cultural network program, with artistic direction by the magician Luís de Matos, with totally free activities that include magic shows, guided tours, magic schools and final galas, in which they will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the students of the various magic classes. An event that aims to raise awareness of heritage, boost internal tourism and local economies, directly involving populations in artistic and cultural experiences. The implementation of this project has, therefore, the collaboration of various entities, such as the Academic Association of Coimbra, the Coimbra League of Combatentes and the University of Coimbra, through the provision of spaces, reception of spectators and visits to locations.
This is, therefore, another contribution from the municipal councils of Coimbra, Condeixa-a-Nova and Montemor-o-Velho to the resumption of cultural activities, after a period of confinement as a contingency measure for the COVID- 19. The programming takes place in places with a strong connection to the history of the municipalities, with all spaces and cultural facilities complying with the guidelines of the General Directorate of Health and the rules provided for in the municipal contingency plans.
Due to the contingencies imposed by the evolution of the pandemic, the updated programming will be available on the websites and social networks of the municipalities and on the Facebook page of the “Sítios Mágicos”.
