Microsoft and University of Algarve join forces to launch Artificial Intelligence course for Executives

Microsoft and the University of Algarve (UAlg) signed a collaboration protocol, on June 25, which results in the creation of an Artificial Intelligence course for Executives. This training aims to create bases for executives and managers to define strategies, implement practices and evaluate investment results related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The program takes place within the scope of the AI ​​Business School, a global initiative by Microsoft with INSEAD, which aims to present the state of the art and empower executives in a practical and actionable way, helping them to build an Artificial Intelligence strategy for organization, including cultural issues and company responsibility.

The course “Artificial Intelligence for Executives” is aimed at executives and leaders of organizations who want to invest in developing value creation strategies for the business, based on data and the latest technological developments, which put AI at the service of companies, as well as offering the necessary tools for its responsible use.

In addition, in all modules there will be a guest speaker, from leading companies, who will share his experience with the trainees. The course starts on the 25th of September and ends on the 30th of October 2021, it will take place on Saturdays, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, with a duration of five weeks. Registration takes place from the 1st to the 17th of September.

For Paula Panarra, General Director of Microsoft Portugal, “the Algarve is one of the areas most affected by the pandemic at an economic level, so we want to provide the necessary tools for local business leaders to implement effective Artificial Intelligence strategies for recovery and re-imagining the region’s economy.”

Paulo Águas, dean of UAlg, considers that “the course on Artificial Intelligence for Executives will help to strengthen the capacity of managers in the region to create value and strengthen the competitiveness of their companies, being oriented towards a strong contextualization around the tourist activity, which will continue to be the main “engine” of the regional economy, which is intended to be more diversified.
