New confirmations at the Montepio às vezes o amor Festival

The 2024 edition features the return of many of the artists who have participated in the Festival over the years, but also with the debut of Ana Bacalhau and Ivandro.

There are already ten artists in eleven cities that will be official capitals of love and there will be more confirmations soon.

‘Montepio Às Vezes o Amor – Valentine’s Day Music Festival’ continues to publish the lineup that makes up its 10th edition.

From the 14th to the 17th of February, the Festival features shows by big names in national music in renowned venues, many of these artists have celebrated love in various national capitals over the years.

Innovation has also guided the course of “Montepio às vezes o amor”, namely through the unique concept “As Canções de Amor de…” which in 2023 featured the participation of Jorge Palma and this year features Rui Veloso, in two unique shows. Furthermore, the program for the 2024 edition includes the debuts of Ana Bacalhau (Castelo Branco), Carolina de Deus (Leiria) and Ivandro (Braga), in this celebration of love, complicity, emotions and excellent music that national artists offer us, year after year.

GNR, Ivandro, Gisela João and Justin Stanton, Ana Bacalhau and Jorge Palma, with a second date in Aveiro, are the new confirmations of the lineup for this edition which already brings together ten artists in eleven cities and will continue to bring new features until the end of the year. The already announced David Fonseca, The Gift and Carolina de Deus complement the 2024 program, in a true tribute to Portuguese affections and music.

GNR are an unmissable reference band that, this year, has been on an extensive tour that took them across the country from North to South, filling the various venues and events they visited. They have a repertoire spanning over 40 years, full of absolute classics of Portuguese pop-rock such as “Dunas”, “Ana Lee”, “Efectativo”, “Morte ao Sol”, “Mais Vale Nunca”, “Pronúncia do Norte” and so many others. In 2024, Valentine’s Day, in Santa Maria da Feira, will be celebrated with the sound of Os GNR in a special concert that they prepared for the Montepio Sometimes Love Festival and will present on February 14th at EUROPARQUE.

Singer, songwriter and producer, Ivandro is what we can call a very complete artist. At just 26 years old, the artist has singles with more than 20 million views and has already graced some of the biggest stages in the country. On February 14th, he will take the stage at Altice Fórum Braga, in an absolute debut at the “Montepio Sometimes Love” Festival, to celebrate love with all the people who want to warm their hearts to the sound of some of the most touching songs on national radio.

Gisela João is an artist who has left her mark on the History of Fado and Portuguese music. Gisela João’s live performances are truly electrifying, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who has the opportunity to watch. Her voice is an act that challenges and captivates, simultaneously. Justin Stanton, known as a member of the North American band Snarky Puppy and winner of 4 Grammy awards, is a multifaceted musician who has traveled the world with his music. In this concert, he accompanies Gisela João on the piano, in a unique and intimate concept. Gisela João, once again, promises to surprise in this special concert that she presents on February 17th, in Caldas da Rainha, as part of the Montepio Sometimes Love Festival.

Ana Bacalhau’s voice and presence have marked contemporary Portuguese music and are part of the memories of all Portuguese people. In addition to being a unique performer who, on stage, always gives herself as if this could be the last time we hear and see her live, Ana Bacalhau increasingly has a say in writing the lyrics and songs she performs. In 2024, love will be celebrated in Castelo Branco, on the 14th of February, with dancing rhythms, inspired by the traditional Portuguese songbook, alternating with more contemplative and delicate moments that are also part of the repertoire of one of the most striking voices in Portuguese music. which debuts in “Montepio, sometimes love”.

Jorge Palma is returning to the ‘Montepio Às Vezes o Amor’ festival after a special edition in 2023, in which he was the first musician to accept the challenge of performing a unique show with the love songs that marked his life. The success of the concept even led to it being nominated this year in the “Best Performance” category at the Golden Globes. In 2023 he presented the album “VIDA”, the much-awaited new original work that will certainly be part of the line-up that Jorge Palma will present at the shows on February 14th in Aveiro and on February 17th in Peso da Régua, packing the most passionate hearts.
