Portugal win and CR7 scores a great goal

Portugal welcomed and beat Luxembourg 3-0 and are thus closer to securing a European Cup appearance.

[dropcap type=”background”]W[/dropcap]ith this victory of Portugal over the Luxembourg national team, by 3-0 Portugal added 3 more points on the way to Euro’2020. Bernardo Silva, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonçalo Guedes were the service markers.

After 16 minutes, Portugal took the lead. Bruno Fernandes saw Nélson Semedo unmarked on the right, the full-back won the bottom line and crossed, the ball deflected and ended up at the feet of Bernardo, who did not waste.

The goals of tranquillity only came in the second half. CR7 capitalized on an inattention by the Luxembourg defence and, with a fantastic hat, extended the Portuguese lead after 65 minutes.

The end result was right at the end of the match at 89 ‘. Following a corner kick, the ball went to Gonçalo Guedes who made it 3-0.

The Portuguese team now have 11 points in their European qualifying group, and ranks second – with Ukraine leading with 16 points and one more game.
