The selected Portuguese productions are ‘A Herdade’ (2019), by Tiago Guedes, ‘Mosquito’ (2020), by João Nuno Pinto, and ‘Ordem Moral’ (2020), by Mário Barroso, all produced by Leopardo Filmes.
‘A Herdade’ started its long international journey at the Venice Festival Competition, Italy, in September 2019, immediately following the International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.
The production ‘Mosquito’, by João Nuno Pinto, starring actor João Nunes Monteiro, was the opening film at the Rotterdam Film Festival, Netherlands, earlier this year. Since then, he has toured several festivals, from Luxembourg to India.
The film ‘Ordem Moral’ marks the return of Mário Barroso to the realization. The film is starred by Maria de Medeiros, in the role of Maria Adelaide Coelho da Cunha, heir and owner of Diário de Notícias, a free woman who fought hard against a moralistic and punitive campaign that was moved after her escape with Manuel Claro , former chauffeur of your home.
The complete program of the 44th International Film Festival in São Paulo, Brazil, is not yet available and should be announced in September, according to the event’s organizers. The event will take place between October 22nd and November 4th.
The registration process open to directors interested in participating ended on August 7th.
