Slow J and Ornatos Violeta the first confirmations of the Crato Festival 2024

The Crato Festival is preparing to celebrate its 38th edition (as a Crafts and Gastronomy Fair) and will take place from the 28th to the 31st of August.
SLOW J and ORNATOS VIOLETA are the first artists to confirm their presence in the 2024 edition of the Festival and will perform, respectively, on the 28th and 31st of August.
SLOW J is one of the most innovative voices in Portuguese music. He launched his first project in 2015, but in 2023 he reached new heights, with the release of the album “Afro Fado” – an essay on Portuguese identity in all the splendour of its mix – which caused an unprecedented cultural and commercial impact in Portugal.
The album’s presentation concerts sold out Altice Arena’s maximum capacity twice. The Crato Festival will be one of the few national stages to host the “Afro Fado” 2024 tour on August 28th.
ORNATOS VIOLETA are one of the most iconic bands in Portuguese music and are returning to the stage to mark the 25th anniversary of “O Monstro Necessita de Amigos”, their most emblematic album and the last of the originals from the group led by Manuel Cruz.
Released in 1999, it was considered one of the best Portuguese rock albums ever. After ending their career in 2002, Ornatos Violeta were challenged for a reunion in 2012, and, since then, the band has played on special occasions.
The cult is still alive and we will celebrate it on August 31st with the sound of timeless songs such as “Ouvi Dizer”, “Capitão Romance” or “Dia Mau”.
