The launching pad for the production of 2,500 units of Tesla’s electric truck, the Semi, may be underway. The information came from Tesla investor and enthusiast Sawyer Merritt.
According to several tweets published by this investor, who will have had contact with one of the Tesla suppliers involved in the production of the Model S/X/3/Y, work has already begun on the Semi. A predicted date is even advanced: the last quarter of 2021.
The body of the Tesla Semi will be produced at the American brand factory in Fremont, California, but the final assembly will take place in two locations: initially at Tesla Gigafactory, Nevada, and later at Tesla Giga Austin, Texas.
