A batch of 12,000 AstraZeneca vaccines and medical supplies landed this Tuesday in Dili, as part of the aid provided by Portugal, which marks the beginning of support for the vaccination process against covid-19 in Timor-Leste.
The measure is part of the Portuguese government’s political commitment to make available to Portuguese-speaking African countries and East Timor at least 5% of the vaccines against covid-19 purchased by Portugal.
In Angola, more than 1.7 million doses have been administered and 642,000 people have been fully vaccinated (less than 3% of the population).
