Arrábida Tunnel illuminates nature
The mural depicting the seabed of the Setubalense seafront that beautifies one of the Figueirinha tunnels gains greater visibility at night with the recent installation of a lighting system inside the road infrastructure.
The work of the Setúbal City Council, carried out throughout the month of July, consisted of placing, at the top of the tunnel, about a dozen luminaires, fully powered by a system for capturing solar energy, which contributes to improving the environment.
The lighting system is switched on daily between 9:30 pm and 6:30 am and, in addition to enhancing the visibility and nighttime attractiveness of that road infrastructure, with a large mural designed by urban art artist Smile, it enhances circulation and safety conditions.
The local authority is moving forward, soon, with the installation of a new public lighting system in another tunnel in the Figueirinha area, specifically the one that shares another urban art mural dedicated to the sports that can be practiced in the Arrábida Natural Park.
