SIC Alta Definição and SIC Replay are the new digital channels from SIC and OPTO

SIC launched two new digital channels, with free access, broadcast 24 hours a day: SIC Alta Definição and SIC Replay, which can now be seen on the SIC website (www.sic.pt) and on OPTO (opto.sic .pt), SIC’s streaming platform, via the website or application.

This launch reinforces the Impresa group’s commitment to innovation and also how SIC provides users with a richer and more varied consumer experience.

SIC Alta Definição will have dozens of episodes of one of SIC’s most classic programs, running freely, bringing together several generations of interviewees and conversations, in a proposal that the public knows and likes and that they can review at no cost.

SIC Replay is a channel to watch or rewatch the best programs in the SIC universe: old programs, recent programs, old programs, classic programs, programs you haven’t seen in a long time, programs you’ve probably never seen and are going to see for the first time. turn. Entertainment, humour, magazines, fiction to watch, to get emotional, to laugh, to cry, to be amazed, to remember, now on a digital channel.

According to Bruno Padinha, chief digital officer of the Impresa group: “These initiatives are not just isolated steps, but rather an ongoing commitment by Impresa to lead the differentiated content offer, optimize the monetization of this content and provide a unique experience to our consumers, combining the best of linear television with the best of digital video.”

Also according to Pedro Boucherie Mendes, director of strategic planning and digital entertainment content: “With a curatorship always thinking about the SIC viewer, we sought to create channels that mix the most recent offerings with traditional programs, many of which are in the public’s emotional memory”.

This launch also represents the adoption of new technologies that will enable the creation of digital channels, offering the user an experience similar to that of a traditional channel, but with the flexibility to personalize advertising on digital platforms, thanks to the adoption of SSAI technology ( server-side ad insertion), which will redefine the advertising experience. This innovative approach allows for integrated advertising personalization with ad insertion directly from the server, ensuring a smooth transition between content and advertising, without interruptions or loss of quality. It represents a revolution in the way advertising will be presented to our users, providing a viewing experience as if it were a broadcast channel.

Additionally, these channels are based on a new grid and playout tool that not only allows the creation of linear channels like those recently launched but also opens the door to pop-up channels, dedicated to seasonal events, such as summer festivals or others.
