P-Bio launches Bio-Health 2030 strategic plan
The Portuguese Bioindustry Association (P-BIO) presented the 2030 Bio-Health strategic plan, in a session with the participation of Manuel Heitor (Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education) and António Costa Silva.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he plan transmits ideas to promote the Life Sciences and Biotechnology sector, advocating a sustained and transversal investment, which may allow Portugal to be positioned as a center for Research and Development in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a strategic pillar of the Union’s production capacity European Union (EU), making our country the European Factory for Health.
Among the measures covered by the Bio-Saúde 2030 strategic plan, the following stand out: promotion of research and clinical development in Portugal as an engine for new NHS financing; constitution of a strategic reserve of productive capacity for the EU in health; promotion of highly qualified employment; empowering the EU’s industrial fabric through the creation of the SME Business European Enhancement Act.
