Pingo Doce has teamed up with the Creativity Club Portugal (CCP) to launch a special edition of the Bliss Coffee Smart machine. Joana Estrela was the chosen artist to create a youthful illustration that will bring more joy to coffee time.
Illustrator Joana Estrela has been publishing her work since 2014, with her portfolio highlighting the work ‘Mana’, which won the International Award of Serpa for Illustrated Album and the award for Best Illustration of Children’s Book (Portuguese Author) at the Amadora BD festival. She has also participated in several national and international exhibitions, such as Comix Creatrix: 100 Women Making Comics; the Porto Book Fair, the Graphixx Festival, and the Amadora BD Festival.
To decorate the Bliss Coffee Smart machine, Joana Estrela created two illustrations that were voted on by the followers of the Instagram page. The most-voted design, which illustrates the coffee machine already available in stores, features floral motifs in shades of yellow and green. A design that evokes a morning and optimistic atmosphere.
The special edition of the Pingo Doce Bliss Coffee Smart machine combines the best of design with the practicality of the simple touch of a button. Compact and very easy to use, it prepares short and long espresso coffees and hot drinks, with the different blends from Pingo Doce’s exclusive capsules. It is now available in stores for the price of €39.90.
This is another initiative that reinforces Pingo Doce’s support for creativity in Portugal, particularly for emerging artists. For over 10 years, Pingo Doce has annually supported authors in the fields of illustration and writing through the Children’s Literature Prize. It was under this Prize that it established a partnership with the CCP, an entity whose mission is to promote creativity in communication, stimulate, support and help form the next generations of creatives and facilitate the exchange of experiences in the field.
