Moullinex, Ranking Joe, Alcool Club, Kumpania Algazarra at Sabura Festival

September 8th to 10th

In the middle of Sesimbra Natura Park, in an idyllic setting 30 minutes from Lisbon, the festival promises to be not just another festival, but a celebration of cultural and artistic diversity through music and art, in communion with nature.

It features a line-up of more than 80 artists, divided between 5 stages and with sounds that travel between samba and reggae, passing through hip-hop, African, and electronic music.

On the first day, September 8th, the shows will count on the presence of Bandua, natives of Beira Baixa. Bernardo d’Addario and Edgar Valente produce downtempo music in Portuguese, celebrating Beira and Raiana culture; Kussondulola (live act), pioneers of reggae in Portugal; and with, among others, Luizga, the alter-ego of the Brazilian artist Luiz Gabriel Lopes, whose music, heir to the richest MPB lineage, also mixes influences from pop music, folk, and world music.

On the 9th of September, impressive names in national music, such as Moullinex, one of the Portuguese musicians most acclaimed by critics and the public for his exuberant house and disco, but also for the more melancholic electronic textures he produces; Alcool Club, a collective from Sines with a very defined style since its foundation, explores everyday themes in Portuguese through catchy rhymes and versatile flows; Kumpania Algazarra, with almost 20 years on the road, are one of the most powerful Portuguese brass bands, involving musical styles from ska to folk, from reggae to Balkan sounds and from Latin rhythms to funk; and also a special mention for the return to Portugal of Ranking Joe, one of the pioneering DJs of the 70s and one of the artists who stood out the most for his talent and contribution to reggae music over the years.

Finally, on the last day of the festival, on September 10th, Coletivo Gira, Chalo Correia, Calee Arias, Muamba Masala, Tiago Santos and Moleques do Samba take to the stage.

Fruit of a common project between three production companies – Taking Over Productions, Growing Arts, and Dub Arena – and motivated and moved by the desire to offer a unique festival in the national panorama, the Sabura Festival, as its name indicates – a movement that gives pleasure or joy – presents, in addition to a diversified musical program, more than a dozen activities and attractions for all ages, such as handicraft fair, gastronomy, workshops, yoga, capoeira, kayak, tree climbing, wine tasting, area for children, camping and glamping.
