The month of March brings the fourth show included in the “Venham Mais 6” cycle – a series of shows starring artists from various areas, in solidarity with the cause and mission of the José Afonso Association (AJA).
In solidarity with AJA, guitarist Pedro Branco presents himself.
He will bring us the presentation concert of his album A Narrativa Épica do Quotidiano, to which he also invited the artists Noiserv and TIPO.
Pedro Branco is a Portuguese guitarist who finally stands up with his first solo project. Member of the band You Can’t Win, Charlie Brown, founder of the iconoclastic project Old Mountain and guitarist in projects such as that of singer-songwriter Tiago Bettencourt, it is with this first solo album that he introduces himself and asserts himself as a rogue composer and storyteller who no one wants to hear.
A Narrativa Épica do Quotidiano is a kind of testimony for future generations of what was happening here at this time, with “Vira-Lata” and “Cinco Minutos Antes” being the main examples. On stage, his friends Noiserv and TIPO join him to add a point to the ill-fated tale.
“Participation in this show happens naturally because for as long as I can remember being a person, José Afonso’s music and message have been part of the values that were instilled in me and that still vibrate within me today. That’s why I welcomed this invitation and with great pride I accepted it, with the hope that my music can make a little sense in this world of dreams and possibilities that Zeca brought us.”

About the cycle “Venham mais 6”
“Venham mais 6” is a series of shows starring artists from various areas, in solidarity with the cause and mission of the Association.
These meetings, inspired by José Afonso’s last album before the April 25th Revolution, released 50 years ago, take place on the first Thursday of each month, at the Camões Auditorium – in Lisbon.
They will constitute spaces for artistic diversity and the promotion of the ideals of fraternity, companionship and freedom that have guided the Association’s activity since its foundation in 1987.
The box office revenue goes, in equal parts, to artists and Associação José Afonso.

AJA, in its mission to value and disseminate this legacy, as a universal heritage, has defined concrete objectives that guide it. Realizing them will be a constant task for which the efforts of those who are truly interested in contributing so that generations remain heirs to a unique and timeless work and do not lose track of José Afonso’s message.
